In Santa Al’s own words . . .
I am a graduate of the Charles W. Howard Santa Claus school, which has been running since 1937, making it the oldest in the world. Besides learning how to keep the legend of Santa Claus alive, we were also taught how to entertain, work with children with different types of disabilities or on the spectrum, learn basic sign language, basic magic, learn the names of Santa in many different languages, suit, hair and beard care and even how to drive a reindeer team. I have worked in major Toronto malls, children's charities, schools, service clubs, large corporate Christmas parties (700+) and Breakfast with Santa. I've even done an upscale engagement party for a groom-to-be named Nicholas because the couple love Christmas! I am also the official Santa of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario (Queens Park), appearing at their annual Festival of Lights days in December and in their public-facing advertising. My costume is very realistic and costs well over $2,000. I undergo Police background checks for people working with vulnerable people every year. I have worked with children from two weeks of age to 99 years. Santa and the Village of Love are two of my passions and it will be my great pleasure to bring them together in this way.
