Village of Love Ride and Walk

Sunday, May 24, 2026
12 noon to 3 pm
432 Runnymede Road, Toronto

Thank you to everyone who participated in and supported the 2026 Village of Love Ride and Walk. While weather threatened, the rain held off, and riders and walkers enjoyed a great day. Pictured here are some of the riders.

We are pleased to announce that this year’s event exceeded our fundraising target. We raised more than $18,000 for the work with orphaned and vulnerable children in Kenya!

The 2026 Ride and Walk has happened, but you can still support the cause. Click the Sponsor the Team button below to support Village of Love. (Note that the total raised shows less than $18,000, as some donations were made by cash, cheque or e-transfer.)

‍All funds go directly to supporting Kijiji Cha Upendo in Kibera, Kenya, helping this dynamic organization expand and enhance its support for orphaned children and the women who care for them.

Do you have feedback about the donation process or the event itself?  If so, please send comments to Paul Stenton at pstenton@torontomu.ca

Thank you again for making this year’s Village of Love Ride and Walk such a success. See you next year!

What to expect

  • Barbequed burgers, hot dogs and veggie dogs on the church lawn at 12.

  • Typically, we ride rain or shine! Of course, it is your choice if you'd prefer not to ride in the rain, you can always ride at a time and location of your choice. Regardless of the weather, the Bikeathon will happen on May 24. We've reserved a space in Runnymede United Church to gather and eat in case of rain.

  • Yes! We have a five-kilometre route planned. We start from the church BBQ, walk through the Baby Point neighbourhood, then down to the Humber River and back. Shorter option available.

  • Yes! This is a charity ride, and donations made will generate a tax receipt for 2026. Village of Love Canada is a volunteer-based organization with very low overhead, so well-over 90 percent of the funds you raise go directly to work in Kenya.

  • Village of Love Canada is a volunteer organization that raises funds for Kijiji Cha Upendo.

The money we raise goes directly to the work in Kenya, supporting women who, despite their own poverty and the challenges of raising children, have taken in orphaned and vulnerable children.

Your donations help the women start small businesses to support their families, improve family health and nutrition practices, pay for school fees so children can stay in school, and more. Read about The Work in Kenya and Village of Love Canada. Thank you for your support!
